I recently purchased a 1993 F-150 with a 300 6 and e40d trans 143k miles. I am not a transmission guy. Park the truck has a light vibration. Reverse is normal pulls strong and smooth. Neutral is the same as park a light vibration that doesn't go away if engine is revd up. Here is my problem Drive is smooth while holding the brake if you accelerate quickly it vibrates or slips and then "catches". When it shifts from 1st to 2nd same thing and same 3rd to overdrive. I have scaned and no trans codes just a 32EVP circuit has intermittently failed below minimum voltage of 0.24 volts and a 512 EEC battery powered Keep Alive Memory (KAM) test failed. The fluid looks clean and does not smell burnt. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First thing I think I'd look at is the flex plate see if it broke, much more likely if the bell housing bolts are found to be loose.
Others work on them all the time and know more of the common internal problems with same/like symptoms might have worse news/suggestions to check?
