I came across a 05 f-350 with a 6.0 this weekend. It's a King Ranch with 93,000 miles. It seems like a deal to me at 16,500. I haven't looked at it yet cause I know I will want it because I love the King Ranch interior. My 02 has 311,000 on it and I just found my intake tube had a 3" crack in it and have a K&n in drop in filter that hasn't helped. My turbo wheel was pretty dirty and it now has in and out play(This is the second stock turbo for the truck, replaced just over a year ago) It's burning oil lately like a siv, my mileage is down, and I have some excessive blow by, it lifts the cap off the oil filler. She still runs strong though, i am very pleased with the 7.3. I also came across a complete 7.3 with turbo for an incredable deal that i was leaning towards already untill i found this truck. I would be prepared to do and egr delete and head studs on the 6.0 at least. I am about 55%(stay 7.3) to 45%(to go 6.0).
You will enjoy the shear power of the 6.0L stepping up from the 7.3L, and an automatic transmission that's very soild. The 6.0L is nothing to be scared of, and you don't need 6K to make it reliable. You need to learn about the 6.0L the best ya can, and be ready for the investment. If you have any questions let me know.
I've been looking into either way I go and i am am going to spend the same amount of money either way. I really like everything about my 7.3 but I also like the feel to the 6.0's lately.
I just did the swap to the 6637 about a month ago. I did a lot of thinking today and as much as I would like to get into the 6.0 I really like what i have now and I think I am going to stick with it. I am going to look at a complter 7.3 this weekend from a friend of a friend that supposedly has 140,000 and it's complete for $1000. So I will see how that looks and go from there I guess. I appreciate all the advice. I'm working on a list of things to do before it goes in if it all works out. This is what i have so far.
Oil cooler
non ebv ped and turbo outlet
complete o-rings and fuel line sleeves
valve springs
head studs
valve cover gaskets and harness
and I am on the fence about a cam shaft, I need to do some searching on it to learn about it but would like some opinions on that or anything else I should do.

What injectors and turbo are you thinking of going with?
I can tell you I own both the 7.3L and the 6.0L and when I want to have fun I drive the 7.3L
Yea I think it would be a lot more fun building a motor for my truck anyways. A lot more satisfying probablly. I'm not sure on injectors or turbo yet I think that all depends on what kind of money i tie up in the other stuff first. What would be recomended for the best bang for the buck?? I already know this is going to lead to one hell of a case of PMS lol. I'm already thinking(pretty much know) my original tranny with 312,000 prob won't like the new motor so I'll have to start saving for a bts.
