engine trouble

Got a 78 f150. 351 modified. Truck revs up fine in park and neutral. But when in drive when u get on the accelerator it cuts out big time. If u ever so lightly press the accelorator its fine. Just rebuilt Carb last week thot maybe that was the problem. Asking replaced the pick up. Any ideas wud be fantastic. Thanks all. can't wait to start divine it again

Things to check:

--float level
--fuel filter
--fuel pump

It sounds like you are starving for fuel once under load.
