strange tranny problem
on my 96 7.3 with a E4OD occasionally when im coming to a stop the check engine light will blink and then the tranny starts acting up and what it does it locks the TC up as soon as i take off then has really harsh shifts after that. also i have noticed the spedometer sways so to speak when it does this.

Mine was doing something similar to that a couple of times previously. Ended up being the speedometer/odometer control module on the cluster. When that starts to go bad, it sends bad info to the computer and it has no idea what to tell the transmission to do. I have a temp gauge on the trans it would build up a lot of heat fast from slipping so much. The two times it did it to me I unhooked the batteries to reset the system and that did it but I ended up getting a used cluster to replace it. Might also be the speed sensor found in the top of the rear end pumpkin. Bolts on with a couple of wires coming off it.
