need a little assistance on a ford car ..............
car is a 71 torino gt convertible , 351 cleveland 4 v with 4 bolt mains , all original , the only thing it needs is a top and interior and a new paint job . no rust repair , no body work . been in storage for 27 years so it's in excellent shape . it was bought from the original owners sone . he started taking the interior apart and lost the dain vin tag , and can't find the title now . where on this car would i find the vin number elsewhere ???? he's agreed to pay for a lost title and all the associated stuff , but i need to find the dain numbers first ........... so HHHHEEEELLLLPPPP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! p.s the engine is a fresh rebuild with receipts , and has an aftermarket cam , headers , a set of vintage m/t valve covers etc. it also again with receipts , has a fresh tranny . we will not discuss the ridiculously low purchase price ..... i should be ashamed , and or will burn in car purgatory at a later date ...................................
On earlier Mustangs, the VIN was stamped into the front inner fender just outside the top of the spring towers, right about where the outer fender bolts to the car. Not sure it's stamped there on your car, but it's free to look... Mustang site says it's stamped both sides, but I remember seeing it more easily on the passenger side.
