Today I got a REALLY good deal on some speakers form a friend and i took it. I got 4 Kicker compVR 12's and a monoblock 1200w kicker class D amp.
I cannot fit even 1 12 behind the seat so I was thinking about doing a cut through and running all 4 subs in the bed.. do a conservative box and see how it sounds..
What are your opinions on this? How are some of the systems done on the superduties
I've built the boxes for under the rear seat. If you want it to sound nice just run 2 12's with a ported box. You could probably get the 4 12's in there but you won't have the volume to allow the bass to really flow and with the amp you won't have room to mount it under the seat so no room for passengers.
If I can get 2 of them in there I would be really happy. You wouldnt by any chance have any pics of the setup would you> do they face up, down? which way are the ports
Remember, far and away the most critical thing is having the right volume for the driver! 1 sub in a properly sized enclosure will sound far better than 4 in undersized enclosures....
i have two 10s behind the seat of my F550. I removed the grey felt molded piece and had a box made. 12s would have been too big. Amp is under the back seat. Sound is great for 10s.
When I built my box I recessed the center a little bit to accompany the amp(1200 Watt Fire and Ice) and I had the ports facing towards the front of the cab. The subs are facing up. I wanted the amp to face forward so you could see the glow of the amp. When ya ride in the back seat it's actually kind of weird. Your rear end thumps and the air blasting out of the ports blows on your legs it's fun lol. I have my autocad dimensions I'll take some screen shots and post em for ya
