It might be helpful if you tell us which edition of the Ford Master Parts Catalog you're looking at? There's a lot of them. Also, is this a CD version, reprint paper, or original catalog you're reading?

The Dummy has access to OSI manuals(Obsolete, Supercede, ? ) which will let you know Ford's most recent number for a part.Others may also have that info. Many people have original or reprinted manuals, which have 50 plus year-old parts numbers.

The 3 I have are all have the same column.I don't need numbers. All I want to know is what the columns marked A thru m are for and what do the letters represent. It is a CD version PDF format.

I may not be Bill, but I tried. If you don't wish to answer my question, but only reply with snotty and snide remarks, I don't think I can help you. Sorry for the bother.

The letters are the month. There is no I used in that list. 12 letters, 12 months.

A carb. date code bi-month listing would have more letters, but I won't get into that.

The numbers in those columns is the quantity of the part described included in kits #17 with the suffix A thru M. Since different calibrations of the same carb were used on different vehicles, with maybe 75% of the parts the same, this is a shorthand way to describe which pieces are in which kit. At least that's my interpretation.

Havi: These letters have nothing to do with months, but I can kinda see why you might think so...considering the dearth of info provided by the OP.

The following applies to 1957 thru today trucks, 1960 thru today passenger Cars (It does not apply to 1956 or earlier trucks, 1959 or earlier Passenger Cars).

There are two 95 text sections. One has the carb application charts, the other has the parts lists.

The carb parts lists are arranged in columns of A thru M, some parts lists also have a continuation of N thru Z on pages after the M parts lists.

If the carb's specific parts list is 15F, you go to carb parts list section 95.15, then look at column F for the parts.

If the carb's specific parts list is 1A, you go to carb parts list section 95.1, then look at column A for the parts.

And et cetera.

The OP posted a pic in his album from the parts catalog that shows these A-M parts lists. It's from the 1960/64 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog.

Since there was no need to have so many carb parts lists for the prior years I mentioned above, there aren't any A-M and N-Z parts lists listed in the 1948/56 truck & 1949/59 car parts catalogs.
