Quick question: What exhaust should I put on my 2002 excursion, 7.3 PSD?
I know it is a preference, but I want performance to go with my DP tuner and 6637, but DO NOT want it so loud to have to upgrade the stereo. This is my everyday driver.
I have read on the FTE Forums about the MBRP and most people like them. Why?
I have friends that say to buy Magnaflow or Flowmaster.
x2 on the MBRP.... I have had 2 of their systems and the fit and quality are great. Most all the systems of the same size will do the same as far as function. It boils down to price, looks, and sound. Each will vary some in those categories. Take your pick!
I've had my exhaust for about a month now and love it. I dont need to crank up the radio with my windows up, but do when driving next to an area where there are things right next to the tip.
i will try to get a vid of it up here in the next few days. it sounds really nice and beats the Magnaflow, MBRP, and Flowmaster by a long shot
I have the 409 Stainless Steel 4" Turbo-Back MBRP exhaust from XDP, and LOVE it. Barely any louder than stock (normal driving conditions) but you hear more Turbo-whistle. It IS loud when the EBPV/high idle kicks on, but not a big deal since it doesn't last long. Saw much quicker spool on my turbo and more boost... make up to 30PSI boost with my current setup! It wasn't hard to instal, either, just cut a bolt on the stock pipe and then cut the stock DP by the tranny crossmember, and remove. Instal was smoothe, hardest part was getting the DP/Turbo clamp back on.
Just stick with the 4"...especially if you are not doing crazy HP mods. I believe all the 5" systems get necked-down to 4" at the turbo anyway.
I've ridden in a vehicle with the Banks and the power elbow, and was quite impressed with the seat-of-pants feel with a stock truck. I personally have an MBRP 4", and the installation is very simple and straight-forward.
