I have a 2000 f-250 4x4 sc with the 6.8/V-10. last friday i was driving down highway and it started running rough, within a few miles it was just loading up with excess fuel. My truck now gets about 3 mpg,and smokes up the intersection when i stop for a light.
I have replaced the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator,TPS, and about 6 weeks ago i replaced all spark plugs with OEM,and 1 COP.
I ran great then all of the sudden it just started loading up with fuel. There is no "check engine" light on and I am completely baffled. All help and sugestions are more than welcome.
Oh by the way when the truck is idiling it sounds like it has a miss in it???
You gonna need to perform a compression check , sounds mechanical to me. You also could check the exhaust ports with a temp gun to see which cylinders arent firing. Then go from there. Btw, do you hear any rattling or any thing like that around the timing chain covers?
No rattling, cylinder temps are within 3-5 degrees of each other, and truck runs great once you get up to around 60 mph,it still smokes slightly but runs smooth. compression checked a few weeks ago when plugs where changed but gonna do it again today. i have a new set of plugs ECT sensor as well as PCM if all else fail i will start installing them .
just to let everyone know my problem was a bad injector.even when injector is unplugged from harness it still pours gas. Now i just have to find the best place to find injectors online.
Thanks for all the advice and help.
