fuel pump noise
ok it seems im having another fuel problem. the fuel hose that comes off of the high pressure pump and goes into the inlet of the fuel filter vibrates something crazy after about 5 mins of running the truck. i can put my hand on the pump while its running and can feel it working, but that fuel line seems to be where all the sound is coming from. the noise is loud enough to clearly hear it over the engine running. if i unplug the hp pump the noise stops, plug it back in the noise is back.
so far i have
replaced the fuel filter, thinking it was clogged. no change in sound. made sure flow was in correct direction
replaced the high pressure pump with a new airtex e2000 pump. still made noise
swapped out that new pump for a known working one off of a 89 e150. noise still there
the tank pump and sending unit are new in the front tank. the rear pump is dead, havent got around to changing it yet.
checked fuel pressure with a harbor freight gauge. at idle im getting 29-30. WOT im getting like 34-35. idle with the vac line off of the regulator its near 40 psi.
any ideas anyone?
