I read it but doesn't help me. I have one of the newer tools that threads in, but doest want to hold. IF I can get it to bite it won't hold when I tighten the pulled nut. Talked to clay several times today and he is gonna send me a new tool next week. It looks to me like the threads are flat "Stripped" so I think that I why they won't bite hard enough. I do like the design of the tool in the first post of the write up thread though....except the pulling the rockers part.
Yes I did that a couple of times. The last time was just a hair more than a love tap because Clay told me I could not hurt it. I got it to bite and it was way more than the 55-60 ft lbs (Clay also said that would be okay) but when I tightened the puller nut it just pulled out and had copper shavings in the threads. Just wasnt sure if anyone else has had this problem. I am going to try agian tomorrow, but I am not expecting any different results because I tried for over an hour. Definition of instanity....."Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results" Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........
Well I determined that the threads were damaged. Clay sent me another one but the threads were damaged on it also. He was about to send me a brand new one, but I was in a hurry, so I built my own and they came out easily.
I will be creating a thread on DIY injector cup puller in case someone gets in a bind like I did.
I don't blame Clay as it is the nature of the beast. These things happen.
I was there when Jim did his cups, so I called him to make sure thats what he did before I called you back. FWIW, I don't think a few brass shavings in combustion chamber will ever hurt anything.

I don't either, but you can do the penny trick and vacuum it really well.

I read about doing that, but didn't end up searching for the coinage. I don't usually carry cash.
They are all in just letting them it overnight before adding water and cleaner.
