Engine ID help
I can't seem to find an air filter for it. The filters that are listed for the 352 don't fit. (they are all a smaller diameter). Does this look like the stock intake cover? The oil filter is mounted horizontally instead of dropping down. The fuel pump doesn't have a filter at all but there is an inline filter. This first picture shows the numbers 30/352 that is cast into the block. Is that too obvious? The VIN says that this should be a 352.
Sorry for the bad pictures.
The FE Family of engines includes the 330, 352, 360, 390, 406, 410, 427 and 428. Ford does not use the term "big block" by the way; the correct term is to refer to a particular family of engines.
Since the engine appears to have been removed (as evidenced by repainting - cannot tell if the entire engine is repainted or just sprayed on from on top), it could be any one of the above. Occam's Razor indicates it is probably a 352, with possibilities of being replaced with a 360 or a 390.
Check the stroke with a piece of house wire or a dowel to narrow the possibilities down. 352/350 is 3.5 inches and 390 is 3.78 The air cleaner and valve cover air filter are not '66/'66 Ford truck stock. The stock fuel pump did come with an integral filter, but the oil filter housing and everything else does appear to be what left the factory with the truck. Correction: 390 stroke is 3.78, not 7.78 - Thanks for pointing that out, NumberDummy!
Originally these trucks came with a corrogated paper fuel filter that fit inside a cannister that threaded onto the pump. The pump on your truck is an autoparts store replacement.
This is the reason why your truck has an inline filter.

The oil filter mounted horizontally was only used in 1965/76 F100/350's with FE engines. Passenger Cars with FE engines have the filter mounted vertically.
The reason why the filter is mounted horizontally: If mounted vertically, there would be little space between the filter and the trucks engine crossmember.
If the left rubber insulator (aka motor mount) broke, the filter could hit the crossmember, splitting it open. Not pleasant!
In 1975, Ford came out with a short version of the FL-1A oil filter: FL-300. This filter was necessary when Ford shoe-horned the 302 engine into 1975/78 Mustang II's.
An FL-1A couldn't be used because it would not fit between the oil filter adapter and the Mustang II's (actually, a re-skinned Pinto!) engine crossmember.

1966 was the first year Ford offered a "dry type" paper filter air cleaner in F100/350's. Previous years used oil baths which were also available in 1966.
C3AZ-9601-A .. Air Cleaner Filter (Motorcraft FA-6) / 7.28" I.D. / 9.78" O.D. / 2.53" high.
Applications: 1966/67 F100/350 352 / 1963/64 Galaxie/Mercury 352/390/406/427 (406/427 with one 4V carb).
If by chance the air cleaner was taken from a 65/71 Passenger Car, 1968/72 F100/350 (most likely to replace the oil bath), there are two other possible filters:
C5ZZ-9601-B (Motorcraft FA-23): 7.50" I.D. / 10.03" O.D. / 2.38" high / 1965/67 Mustang/Falcon/Fairlane/Comet 289 (exc HiPo) / 1965/67 Galaxie 289/352/390 and etc.
C8AZ-9601-A (Motorcraft FA-50): 11.32" I.D / 13.30" O.D. / 2.80" high / 1968/71 Passenger Car 289/302/390/428 / 1968/72 F100/350 302/360/390.

1968 and later V8 air cleaners have a steel preheat tube that attaches to the bottom of the air cleaner's duct and valve (snorkel), then routes to the exhaust manifold.
