hot positive wire
hi , i have a 89 ford f150 4x2 4.9l and im having a problem with a hot positive cable wire . i didnt have this issue before my friend did my clutch. so i ask what could be the problem causing it to become hot and melt slightly at the end of cable on the firewall ? if anyone can help me please email me or add to this thread . thanks for your time

A bad contact at the termination points or broken down insulation causing a short. Pull the cable, get a new one, use a wire brush to clean the area at all terminations to shiny metal, reterminate, and cover in a dielectric compound.
Clean up the contacts on the battery posts and cables also, cause I'm sure it probably looks bad too.
