I guess it depends on how much you value your free time. To me it's not worth saving the $41 to spend the time cleaning, testing, then changing the boot and spring on each of the old COPs. Then there's the possibility that even if all the COPs test good, one might be borderline not good. You could put it all back together and still end up with a misfire. But that's just me! I learned the hard way that it's okay to be penny wise, as long as you're not dollar stupid.
Good I'm glad to hear it worked out for you. When I changed my COPs I kept a few known good ones, just in case I ran into a 'I need to fix it now' situation like you did.
