Hey guys, my brother has a 2001 F250 V10 4x4. The truck has 75,000 miles on it and has been a good truck, but for the last little while the truck has started running kinda crappy. When the truck is idling it back fires out of the exhaust, just making a pop sound. Then when you also put your foot into it a little or lug the engine it misses slightly throughout the rev range.
He had a new fuel filter and spark plugs put in and that didn't help any, it has never had the check engine light come on and has been run for codes. He had a couple of mechanics look at it and they don't know what it could be. The COP's are good as according to them.
Anyone have ideas on what we could look at? The truck has a flowmaster cat back exhaust and a K&N intake on it, could this intake cause a problem? I've heard they can every now and then.
