Flowtech 12500 Longtubes, made for 67-72 F series with 302. My 66 has a 302 and I cant find any other (affordable) options, just wondering if they should work without too much modification.

As far as I know they will providing you are using Ford engine mounts and perches. The frames didnt change much from 65-79 from what I have read.

Im sure someone with more knowledge than me can confirm or deny this.

Another option is a set from a 5.0 Mustang. They are shorties and most of the time there is plenty of clearance to use them. Plus, a set of factories from a donor car are usually pretty cheap. I see them from time to time on C-list for under $50 for a set. Plus the material is a little thicker than those cheap aftermarket headers you would be buying. Just a thought. Good Luck.

Hey RVX,
I have a 302 in my '66 F250, and I just installed a set of shorty Ford Racing headers recently...they bolted up perfectly, with
plenty of clearance to then run an exhaust system. I got a pair of non-coated ones, and they are so neat and well
designed, no need for plug wire insulators either. They are good and thick too, so no warping to worry about.Do yourself
a favor and go with shortys, life will be much easier. Don't believe anyone who tells you that shorties are no good either,
my truck has a whole new gear now.

An issues that may come into play, not sure if 'shorties' would be a problem in event decide to go with p/s in the future, other members with shorties should be able to address that issue

Have a set of long tubes in both 65's and there were couple issues, had to lift engine slightly to install passengerside header; further, on passengerside I took my 4 1/2" grinder and removed small amount of metal from the engine crossmember, wanted to slightly increase the clearance for the header flange. Just installed the driver's side header, I developed a small crack so I had muffler shop weld it and had to remove the clutch Z bar, interesting did not to get the header but darn if I could get to go back in w/out removing the Z bar; anyhow, no big issue.

Finally, it's likely a good muffler shop can route exhaust to accomodate just about any configuration.
