Hey guys im building a 52 ford f-1 rat rod and I have been looking at a set of steel wheels that came off of an 04 dodge ram 1500. Its a 17 in wheel and I believe the lug pattern is the same but im curious about the back spacing. Anyone have an amazing web site I could look at to find out if they will work or not, or mabe even tried this combo before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, casey
Same bolt pattern, 5 x 5.5". They are shown to be 16" x 7" with about 14mm of positive offset. Your 17s were either an optional wheel or weren't from a '94. Stock F-1 wheels are 16" x 4.5" and have .67" of positive offset. The stock wheels, therefore, have slightly less than 3" of backspacing where your Dodge wheels will have slightly more than 4" of backspacing. Whether that one extra inch, in combo with the greater section width of your chosen tires, creates clearance issues I won't know. Now the dark siders can have their say. Stu
