Built Ford Tough
My project has hit some serious snags.
The person who said they would do the welding for me now backed out. So now I am trying to search out a welder to do the work myself. We had agree'd on a good price, and hell he only lives a block away. I figured he would have about 4-5 hours of welding, and I said $150. Maybe more if I changed things.
I hate him, and now I am left in a serious bind. I have 3 weeks to get my truck on the road, and I have barely started. Also I have job interveiws, and potential employment to deal with.
Ooohhh yeah ulcer.
as for the welding- do you have a way to cut metal yourself? if so, a cheap-o welding setup will cost you about the $150 you were going to pay the neighbor. maybe its time to pick up a new skill? (this is what i'm planning to do when the time comes. i've got the welder, just need the front end.)
I have been a decent welder in the past, but I no longer have the equipment. It was old when I got it, and died years ago.
I got my front end from a P71 from a police wrecker. It was a bit more expensive, but no back breaking work at PYP.
