Help locating Oil Leak

Starter came loose after engine gelled in extreme cold.
2002 f-250 7.3, now have oil leaking from somewhere above starter. Has any body else had this, or any thoughts on where the leak might be?

Well, first, are you sure it's oil, not diesel?

Next, start at the Engine Valley... Is it wet/oily?

Front? Middle? Rear? Lots of things it could be coming from.

Is it draining enough to leave spots, or just "coat" with grime?

I know my Turbo Pedestial is leaking, and I get oil in the back of the valley, and it runs down the back of the engine, and drips off the oil pan.

Hopefully will have that fixed in the next month... need to clean/sand/paint the oil pan, too.

HPOP = High Pressure Oil Pump.

Sometimes the O-rings on the pump itself or the lines in the HPO system go, causing a leak. Start with the Valley, and figure out where the oil starts. Anything leaking on top will drain into the valley, and make its way to the drain in the passenger side center rear of the valley, between the tranny and the engine.

Like I said, it could be a few things, start by locating where the oil starts, and work from there.
