Leaf Spring Bolt help!!

93 F-150 Supercab 4x4 351W

I am Having an issue removing a stubborn leaf spring front frame bracket bolt. Been hammering away for 60 min now . Do i need to burn it out or what? Suggestions appreciated. Have no means to burn if I need to what is a lowes recommendation if they even have something to burn with.Afraid back bolts will be the same or even the other side

Yea I live in the rust belt

Thanks for any advice<O</O

I would think you are going to have to cut through the bolt, between the spring hanger and the spring eye to get that out.
If you can cut through the bolt between the eye and hanger at the end with the head on it you may be able then to cut the threaded end off on the outside of the hanger and lever the spring eye out.
All I can think of.

I'm in Baltimore so my F250 was just as rusty, my solution was a 4-1/2" grinder with cut off wheels, it went through those bolts like butter!

The problem is that the steel on the inside of the bushing has rusted to the bolt. The rubber gives it a little bit of "give" when you hammer on it so that is pretty useless.

Cutting it out is the best idea, heating it until the rubber burns out will also work if you have nothing to cut with, but it's not the preferred method. Don't ask . ..

I've done that also, works pretty good if you've got room to get it on the bolt.

Such an easy job with a press when the bed is off If the bed is still on, cut off wheel or sawzaw as mentioned. Do wear good eye and ear protection.

I used a Hilti chipping gun on mine, after beating it for 20 mins with a hammer. I had the sawzall on the ground next to me, something about rusty parts makes me lose my mind.

Truly awful .. .

Be safe out there, wear some eye protection, decent gloves, and watch out for sparks and fires . .
