F53 Parking Break on 87-97 F250/350?????
Hey guys,
I thought I might post here first... Saw the parking/e-break on the back of a E40D in a F53 chassis today. The picture i saw kinda looked like the E-brake system was mounted to a 4x4 e40d (was in a camper or something).
Anyway, I have been looking for a parking break solution for after I convert my 10.25 sterling drums to disks with the ruff stuff break kit. Just wondering if a F53 e-break system would bolt to the back of a ZF-542 to be used as a parking break? I realize the driveshaft would need to be shortened and a cable modification would be needed... Just curious if a F53 break could be used in a 3/4 or 1 ton???

the E40d and ZF5 transmissions use the same E-Brake assembly , they were put on the 4x4 versions of the transmissions and used in the older supper duties , F450 and such ! you would need a 4x4 tranny to bolt one on to , and they are there own gear box and so you have to check there oil level just like you would the transfer case or any other box !
