In the "who is the most liberal" contest spewgene wins hands down. But that doesn't make Corvallis conservative.

The students learning to prepare for real careers are outnumbered 2:1 by liberal arts and other worthless degrees. The professors who teach all of the worthless degrees hence outnumber the professors of real degrees 2:1. Add in all of the bay area transplants brought in by HP and other tech companies and you have the biggest concentration of liberals outside Portland or Eugene.

Instead of making the comparison of Corvallis to Eugene, compare Corvallis to McMinville, Dallas, Stayton, Albany or Lebanon. It is the one bastion of liberalism standing out in the mid valley. Let alone what happens when you compare Corvallis to Lakeview.

When the O was campaigning, where did he stop? Eugene, Corvallis and Portland. You can go into American Dream Pizza and see his picture there when he stopped during the campaign.
