I'm thinking about a swap for my truck. I have a 302 with an AOD and i was thinking about a 300. I would like to know if the 300 will hook up to the AOD, which would save me a lot of time and money.
I just got done having an AOD installed in my 83 F-150. The trans bolts up just fine, but you will have to use a 300 specific flywheel as the 302 one is externally balanced and will ruin the engine if you use it.
Torque converter from the trans should bolt up, so thats one less thing to worry with.
Well next year I might be doing my senior thesis on the "best" truck engine for my situation, which is a highschooler with a part time job and a big truck. I am not set on anything yet, but i was thinking it might be cool to build up a 300 as much as i can because they are so durable and make good low end torque. Then maybe swap it into my truck if its not too much of an ordeal... but like i said, I'm not set on anything yet...
