Given the scarcity of some new SD trucks (250/Gas/Crew/lariat/SB) I am using online searching tools to find vehicles. Does anyone know if Ford's dealerconnection sites generally have better updates than local dealer sites? Usually to contact a dealer you need to give a phone number and then the usual BS starts. Just want to find the truck I want and go after it, not play around with salesmen that want me to consider something else.
Is there a better way to search for inventory? I've tried using autotrader and cars.com but not every dealer lists their new trucks on there.
There is a member on here called BigKen. He is a dealer and is very generous with help like this. You might try contacting him and see if he can do a search.
I know this thread is a little old, but if you haven't found a truck yet, try cars.com. They have great info and pics on there and from what I've seen, their search results are more up to date than the dealer connection results. for some reason, Ford seems to be kind of slow when it comes to updating inventory. Of course, that may be due in part to the actual dealers not updating as well.
I'm just guessing here but I'd say they update cars.com a little faster because they have to pay to advertise there.
I did get in touch with BigKen who hooked me up! Thanks KEN!
In the search I shifted gears from the F250 to the F150 given that I would really be exceeding my needs with the SuperDuty. Tried out the new ecoboost, and decided to go that route. Ordered it on 7/15
Cars.com was a better bet though as PS72 said- I had been using that approach as well. Especially because "newly listed" ones were a lot easier to search for. I really like the GMC site because you can spec the truck and do a search within x number of miles, and its lists the trucks in order of relevance without needing to select a dealer. Going dealer by dealer on fords site is a little tedious. I gave that feedback to Ford - they may as well squash the only thing I can say positively about GMC, LOL.
