An ignition question

An ignition question
This just started today, My key wont turn my ignition. As in I have the key in the ignition and it will turn to left to power acessories, but it will not turn to the right to turn the engine on. So my question is this: is my key just worn down or do I need a new ignition. Thanks in advance for the help
