how big is TOO big?
I have a rim layin in the shed that my dad used to have on his Bronco. It's a 15x10inch. That gave me the idea of putting some 15x10's on the back of my truck, but not quite sure on the diameter yet. Will my truck with the 300ci have enough power to turn such wide wheels without any effort?? Or doesn't wideness affect anything like diameter does?

If you have power steering, you won't have any problem turning the wheels. I don't have PS and run 12.5" x 15 wheels and really do not have any issues turning mine unless it is low speed/tight turning situations like a tight parking lot.

Increasing diameter will hurt more than width because it changes the effective gear ratio. I've run 27x10 street radials on my truck with no problem turning them. An offroad tire would probalby be heavier for a given size though. Up to around 28x12 you should be OK.

You need wide rims to run wide tires. I've been told by the tire shop guys (and this makes sense) that you should run a rim that is NOT LESS THAN 2" as wide as the <a href="http://service.bfast.com/bfast/click?bfmid=37919709&siteid=39251846">tires </a>you run ( nor much wider) to prevent premature wear on the middle of the tire. With that reasoning, you could run 10.50"(wide) x 31"(tall) <a href="http://service.bfast.com/bfast/click?bfmid=37919709&siteid=39251846">tires </a>(like I do) or 11.5 x 32's, or AT THE MOST 12.5 x 33's for the best match. In other words, a 10" rim will work best with 10-12" wide tires. Any narrower or wider and you risk throwing the tire or premature wear... Taller <a href="http://service.bfast.com/bfast/click?bfmid=37919709&siteid=39251846">tires </a>will give the same effect as lower gears in the rear end - slower bottom end but higher top speed at the same rpms. 31's on my 300-6 with 3.50 gears is a decent combo.
