The mirrors on my 66 move alot is there a trick to fixing this
Are these the OEM mirrors ? Towing style ones ? We can't see the truck.
My after market towing vanities had gone sloppy and some bicycle tube between clasp and frame mount solved it. But they get bumped here and there and are hell to true on the fly. Been considering a quick release adjuster and lag bolt on the clasp in place of the barrel style nuts and std bolt setup. They tend to slide down as well over time.
If they are the aftermarket ones like mine they seem to stay fairly solid if you tighten them up after you have them adjusted. I had the same issue with mine every time I adjusted them they shook pretty bad.
There are two types of aftermarket round chrome mirrors.
One type has a replaceable head. The ball on the mirror head wears, the head flops around. If you have this type, the head is available separately from DC.
If you have the type that the head is not replaceable, you have to buy another mirror.
