Anybody heard of this? I went and looked at a Jetta last night (been trying to find something with better mileage). Car looks good. Good price, manual transmission, manual everything, low miles, etc. Looks good. I go with the owner on a test drive. He starts talking...A LOT. Don't do this, you gotta do it this way, don't pull to hard on the parking brake...on and on. Then he starts yapping about the synthetic oil he uses, the E3 plugs he installed and Moletech. I ask him what that is. He goes on to describe a fuel saving device that he claims netted a 20% fuel mileage gain. Conveniently exactly what they advertise on Moletech's website. I never got a clear answer what exactly the device was. So I go home, log on to the computer and start researching. It appears to be 2 "sensors" that zip tie to a coolant hose, air box and 2 that get tossed in the fuel tank! Honestly, the car was in great shape, but the moletech threw me for a loop. Anybody ever heard of this. Even reading about it, I have no idea how it could possibly work.
well im certainly no rocket scientist but......" nano technology " for the coolant and air box - seriously. Sounds like they are praying on the europeon market which has horrendous fuel prices.
The thing that kills me is that the car is in great shape...other than..."there are two little metal sensors rolling around in the fuel tank that I tossed in there to increase fuel mileage." To me that is one of those hit the brakes and back up kind of deals. I can only think of them sitting in the tank degrading and sending junk all through the fuel system.
