No I'm not talking about the outside for beauty purpose's.
Last night while changing the throttle position sensor I noticed a decent amount of carbon build up around the intake manifold where the throttle body connects. I couldn't see to far inside because it started raining while I was changing the tps so i just wanted to get that finished.
But, what I thought was strange was that a month or so ago, I ran seafoam through the intake and thought that should be good, apparently not.
Can I spray carb cleaner through the intake while the engine is running or do I have to remove the intake manifold?
You can, but it wont get all of it. Next time you have a chance, take it off and spray brake parts cleaner or somethin o the same potentcy, and spray it and get something to scrub it all out
Did you notice a difference in how the engine ran?
My truck was running fine at the time, I just did it because it looked like it needed a good cleaning. I really wasn't looking for, or didn't notice if it ran any better afterwards. I'm sure it didn't hurt.
