Dealer plates

Hi all. I'm always looking for ways to register old autos without the hassle of titling and what not, which can be a serious problem. I would like to get some kind of license plate that is VALID and can be legally put on multiple vehicles without visiting the DMV first. I know dealer plates are like this, but at least in NJ where I live it's more trouble than it's worth to get them, and in any event the police don't allow them to be used for daily drivers. I am aware of several types of license plate that don't have these problems, but I'm not really sure what route I should take. Anyone here have any suggestions on what type of plate I should get or what state I can get it from?

I'm sorry it's a hassle, but I think you should go through the regular licensing, title and registration process LIKE THE REST OF US.

MD used to have a recycler plate for the wrecking yards. I don't know if New Jersey has something along those lines.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I will definitely check out MD's policies. My apologies for perhaps placing this in the wrong forum, I'll know for next time where the appropriate place for this type of discussion is.

For anyone it may concern, I do go through the same hassle as everyone else when it comes to titling and registering vehicles. I'm not looking for a way to cheat the law. That's why I DON'T want to use "DEALER" plates, which cannot legally be used for everyday driving. I am, however, looking for a legal way to have one plate for multiple vehicles. As long as it's legal I don't see why I should have to feel bad about it, as everyone else could easily do the same. It's a valid point that, of course, I shouldn't get off easier than everyone else, but if everyone else simply chooses to use a method other than what I end up using, that's their concern.

Additionally, if I find the type of solution I'm looking for, "the rest of us" may have a solution as well. That's why I'm discussing the issue with others who could benefit.

Currently, though, I use the same procedure as most everyone else, and I do share your pain when it comes to dealing with MVC.
