Gas Tank strap?????

I'm replacing my tank on my 78 F150 4x4. The rubber isolators that go in between the tank and strap are no longer there. What are yall using to replace them? The straps are wide so a bike tube isn't wide enough.

Go to a parts store, buy some leaf spring neoprene liners. These come in different widths, have a shoulder on either side.

Use a old car tire tube, or ndummy idea, it will look better and last longer.
