Unhappy I Need Help Quick

My Tranny just grenaded today in my 94 F-150. After 220,000 miles I dont blame it but now I got no Wheels. It had a Mazda Tranny in it behind a 300 I-6. First will a ZF hook to the back of the engine with the 351 Bellhousing, it is same pattern but What about depth. Second should I just put in another Mazda. Im pretty rough on my trucks, but the last one did last 220,000. Anyother pitfalls I should be aware of. Anything else need to be changed that Im missing to make this work. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Andy

The ZF will require some modifications to crossmember placement, driveshaft length, & possibly clutch slave cylinder type. You might even have to change the floorplate adapter, but I don't know. A used 4WD smallblock ZF costs $800-1300.

Putting another M5OD back in would certainly be quicker, cheaper, & easier. Just check & change the fluid more often in the new one.

Ditto what Steve said. They're also very easy to be found. Most yards around here sell them for as little as $250 from wrecked trucks.

220k is excellent from a mazda. Put another in and have fun!
