Rear d60 info needed

Rear d60 info needed
Hello all
Heres the story I got a rear dana60 ff for my 83 K5 Blazer it had 4.56's and disc brakes and I was told it was rebuilt with in 1000miles last week I got it put in and this past Saturday it went south in a big way. The housing is no longer usable due to the Hole in the bottom if it. Heres a link for the whole story

I don't know if that will work or not.
Anyway it was out of a 79 ford f250 I think it does have 30 spline. Now today I found a 60 out of a 74 ford f250 with 4.10's and a posi they want 225$ for it.
What I need to know is what spline most likely came in that year. and I think there are different years that can not go up in gear ratio ie the Like I can't use 4.56's on a carrier that had 3.73's is that true.
I don't mind using the 4.10 gears till I can get some 4.56's to replace them but I would also like to use the Old axels incase I break one.
So any info you guys could give me would be a big help
I did try a search and so far I haven't found what I need.
