My driver side wheel locking hub is making noise when locked in and turning. doesnt matter what degree of a turn. When driving straight it is fine, when slightly turned it makes noise. Best way to describe the noise is it sounds like it's binding/snapping/crackling. Only when locked into 4 wheel. Seems fine when locked in and driving straight. However there was a moment where the truck almost seemed stuck for a second and then jumped forward. What can this be?
Could be a bad u-joint. I'd recommend pulling both hubs to clean them up, and while you're in there, you can check the wheel bearings, repack them, and check the u-joints.
Well the truck goes off the road soon, probably next week. Too hard to do any work/upgrades to it when it's my daily driver. In all honesty man, I'm new to the 4x4 scene, and this is my first "long-term" domestic project period! hahaha got bored of the tuning thing, and decided to come to the darker side. How many Asian Rednecks you know of?!?! aaaaahahahaha. Some help, guidance, and tips on doing the hubs would be awesome man.
My 90 f150 does the same thing on pavement turning from a stop. I checked the u-joints they are fine, ball joints, the inner and outer tie rods are good too, havent checked the wheel bearings but I know what they sound like when bad and its not likey them what else could it be...? maybe the front diff has worn or ate up teeth in the gears? Man I hope not.... that would really suck donkey ****

Defintely should not be driving on pavement locked in bro. extremely hard on the front diff. Our trucks are not designed to be locked in on pavement, unlike AWD. Terrain has to give a little and allow some "slipping".
