??? removing oil cooler?
Trying to take my oil cooler out to check it. I have it off the engine and the top plate removed. I see two bolts on the bottom side and two studs with nuts on the top side, which I have removed, but I cant seem to get it seperated from the housing. How hard do you have to pry or smack it. It just wont brake loose. What am I doing wrong. I assume it does seprate from the top plate?. I dont want to damage it. Is there any way to tell if it is plugged when you get it off?

John its not that hard , set the top plate on two blocks of wood where the cooler is hanging with room under it then the water inlet and outlet that stick though they have two fat **** O rings on them they are kind of whats holding the cooler on tap them with a hammer it will come louse .

Not really. I have one that I took out of a customers truck that was running 20+* difference on level ground unloaded with a 70mph cruise and by looking in the coolant holes it looks just like new.
