Today was a nice day, sun was out and in the mid 60's. Bad news, the Kosovo chow hall people quit today over wages, so they started handing out MRE's for dinner. I went to Burger King and got a burger and fries. I hope they work it out fast, I HATE MRE's
Do you work on rear Axles? Mine is shot and I am either going to rebuild it of replace it. Never rebuilt a rear end before. Douglas is not too far from Albany. You should post your shop info the the Shop recommendations thread.
nah, I meant shop with stockpile of ford related rebuild tools.
I'm offshore 8 months a year so scheduling is the only problem.
Rear end? sure, I've only done ford 9's so I don't know much about the rest of them.
If ya got a 9, yeah we can change out axle bearings, and rebuild the third. etc etc.
I think mine is a 9 inch and I think I have one bent axle too. Dang I love the room you have. My wife is moving us in with mother in-law. She says the shed is packed and it will be me getting it straight. She said it is packed to the door. Lovely...
I would be interested when you get back, or I get back, something... No big hurry, it is not a daily driver anyway.
I leave for work again in a week, and will be back May 18th-June 1st.
Course Manfred and I are kinda sorta in the middle of a long drawn out Np435 rebuild... it's taken like 4 months, I hope we remember where all the parts go :P
but yeah, the shop is 50ft by 30ft and dedicated to Ford car and truck madness. I've got a c6, np435, 63.5 galaxie, and a bunch of other junk scattered around, it kinda looks like a junkyard exploded.
Well Chief, since you asked me kindly to make an appearance here I figured I would and let you know what I'm workin on. Veronica (the truck) is a 1981 ford f100 custom with the 4.9 I6 all stock save for the homemade "GO DAWS" plywood tailgate and the gun rack/beer rack in place of the sunvisors. Making plans to install a set of Heddman headers (2 piece) to run dual side exhaust because nobody else has it in the next 2 months. Wife knows i love my beer so she is buying me a mini beer tap handle to retrofit onto my stick shift. In all, what was originally gonna become a restoration is turning into a rat rod. Hey, fine by me!
All stock except for the homemade "GO DAWS" plywood tailgate and the gun rack/beer rack in place of the sunvisors.
Man you are a redneck !!!! You should fit right in...
Veronica (the truck)*- There has to be a good story behind that name..
Just messing with ya, Glad to have you here...
DEEP,
If it's load and burns alot of gas we have twins !!! Pretty close, except for mine is a 79. It took me a week of hounding my wife to get that picture, I dare not ask for more right now..I see you live in the woods too. I do not get back home till sometime close to October.
It's taken like 4 months- good god you making every peice from scratch???
