Battery light @ high rpm

Battery light @ high rpm
I have seen other expired threads on this subject with no material fix. Here goes.
Allofasudden... I am getting the battery light at and above 2300 RPMs on acceleration. Goes out right at the shift points as the RPMs drop below 2300.
Volt meter shows solid 14 volts, lights, etc work fine. Belt is tight, but this has been only happening since the weather warmed up recently here in Ohio. So, I'm wondering if the belt is getting a little "playful" as the engine warms up.
Also, on another thread, they recommended checking all the conncetions. I did. Rock solid tight. Battery - alternator, etc...
Green battery eye is green.
What could it be before I go to the shop and have them run a check on the alternator?
Thanks,
Bob

Battery light @ high rpm
Bob, mine was doing the exact same thing about 2 months ago. I took it to Advance Auto and had the alternator checked. Sure enough, it was charging fine at lower RPM's, but anything above 2300, the light was on, and it was only putting out 9 volts! Changed the alternator and poof.......... problem gone. Just one more note...... The alternator is $180:-staun So be prepared!

Guess what??
The brushes on these FORD alternators are welded to teh flywheel and can't be replaced like any old alternator.
So, 163 dollars later, I have a new alternator.
The old one was only putting out 17 amps max at any rpm - just enough to keep the ignition happy.
The change was not bad at all. Pulled the top radiator hose and it made access a heck of a lot easier.
So, I am a 130 amp man once again, and the blower sure worksd a lot better now too!
Take care and thanks,
bob
