t19 question
Hello, my t18 finally kicked the bucket and I need a new trans for it. I know that the 2wd t18 / t19 are a direct swap, but I was wondering if I can swap a t19 from a 4wd to my 2wd. The reason for this is that there is a local t19 out of a 1986 4x4 in good order that I can get for basically free. Can I just take the bell housing and the tail housing from my t18 and install it on the t19 and be good to go? Thanks

No. To change the tailhousing and output shaft, you have to disassemble the entire tranny. Will a t18 tailshaft and housing swap into a t19? I am not sure, but like I said, you have to take the whole tranny apart to do it if they did.
