Numberdummy help

I just read thru your other thread where you said you have right/left fuel (saddle) tanks in addition to the in-cab tank.
These tanks are not genuine Ford, they're aftermarket because Ford never offered saddle tanks for any truck.
The only auxillary (25 gallon) fuel tank offered for these trucks was an option, mounted under the bed on the inside of the left frame rail. The exposed fuel cap pokes thru the left side of the bed.
D3TZ-9A050-B (replaced C8TZ-9A050-A & C1TZ-9A050-A) .. Fuel Gauge Selector Switch / Available from Ford / MSRP: $54.04.
1967/72's with the optional 25 gallon under bed fuel tank: There is a manually operated selector valve on the floor next to the seat. This changes the in-cab tank to the auxillary tank and vice versa.
The switch is used to change the instrument cluster fuel gauge from the in-cab tank to the auxillary tank and vice versa.
Will this switch work with aftermarket saddle tanks? I dunno, and the parts catalog doesn't list the number of terminals it has.
Suggest you call a dealer that has it, ask the parts guy to describe it. Closest to you: Jim Burke Ford in Bakersfield has one = 661-328-3761 / Carminita Truck Center in Santa Fe Springs has two = 562-404-6399.
But don't buy it if it appears that it may work, cuz it can be ordered elsewhere for much less. I can't give you the FTE member discount price from PARTSGUYED.COM (Horizon Ford in Seattle) because Ed's site is down...will edit it in later.

Thanks for the reply, I actually have only the incab tank & left saddle tank, I think I'm ok with the switch I have, I disassembled & cleaned it & have good contact, I was able to find a good schematic & somewhere there are wires crossed so I'll be crawling under the dash shortly ,, Thanks again for your help
