I can't remember Ford ever putting a 205 behind a t-19. I don't have a t-19 built for a transfer case so I can't say what would have to be done to make it work.. I put a t-18/205 unit from a 70's model behind a 6.9...The 19 is a better trans in many ways but the 18 will do fine.. I guess my answer is "I don't know".
I believe the 205 will bolt right up, but someone posted that you have to grind a couple of notches in the aluminum adapter to let the linkages in the 205 operate right.
I'm pretty sure Ford is the only one who had LH drop 205's...ever...... so I should be pretty safe if all the married x-cases bolt up the same.
I'm working on this combination Built 6.9L Turbo+bell housing+underdrive+T-19+married NP 205
with 3:55/54 gears and 36" tires
that should be a good combination
I've got a line on a married Ford NP 205 right now but all I know is it is off of a Ford
Yup, Ford uses the same bolt mounting pattern throughout the years so you can unbolt your existing transfer case and bolt in an NP205. But as farmert posted you may have to modify some stuff to fit one in. The following is the thread I made when I put an NP205 in behind my C6. You will likely need to notch out the side for the shift rails, and then I also milled in some reliefs for the NP205's seal plate cap screws. I could have also used a transfer case spacer or clock ring to do the same thing, but I went for maximum spline contact. Another thing to look into is the output yokes of the NP205 as compared to what you have now, as well as the NP205 is likely a tad shorter and will likely require a longer rear drive shaft. So yes it will "bolt in" but "not quite"

I guess it is a bolt up...My concern was the splines on the main shaft fitting the transfer case...I do now there are different input spline options for the 205.. It was used in about everything...in some sort of configuration.

That's definitely something to check out first.
My 4wd. T-19 is sitting on the floor so it'll be easy to check.
reviving this thread here, my BW t case is makeing some interesting noises so ive been thinking about doing this sway. ive got an 88 ZF 542, anyone got any pictures of this swap being done.
I got a BW 1356, I am pleased with the ol' chain driven model. My brother snapped a U-joint and smacked his front driveshaft into the the damn thing seven times, still runs like a champ.
All Married 205's, like all the F-truck chain drive cases except for Super duty 6 speeds and 05+ autos(outside of 97+ F150's, don't know anything about those) are 6 bolt round, 31 spine input. Direct swap as far as the bolt up is concerned. They don't work well with an E4OD, the output is too close to the side of the trans, but thats about the only thing they don't cooperate well with.
Make sure you adapt the side mount from the 70's truck though, without it you will break the transfer case adapter on anything with an aluminum adapter.

My 1356 is little "rattly" but so was the married 205 in my Dodge with only 125K on it.
