The odyssey of installing headers continues. I broke down and ordered a set of Stan's Tri-y headers with CJ heads. Really well made and to my complete shock when I trial fit them THEY WORKED!!!!! The next painful experience was sending them to be coated. I've used HTC coating just South of London, they did my rocker arm covers and intake manifold. The headers came back looking great. Now the installation and exhaust plumbing. After ordering gaskets three times the order came in correctly and I found my Stage 8 bolts and Taylor sprak plug boots. I hope within a couple weeks I'm ready to shred the tires, I mean drive responsibly. Looking forward to the summer meets.
John.
For big block headers they charged $310.00 plus tax. You ship the headers to them and they prep and coat them inside and out and send them back COD. It's about a 21/2 week turnaround.
John.
Thanks for the info. I work not too far from London so maybe I can save shipping costs. Now I just have to convince my wife that coating my headers is more important than food!
I hear you on that. When the headers arrived the eyebrows went up on my significant other. When the UPS brokerage fees and tax bill arrived the arms crossed. When the headers returned from being coated a steely silence fell on the household. I'm not sure when to break the news about the stainless exhaust pipe I just ordered!
