i just replaced the air injection rail and the valve cover gasket of my truck. immediately after this, i began to get this weird vibration in my gas pedal at low rpms. i think the whole motor is vibrating, but its really noticeable at the gas pedal while driving. it happens when i first take off from a stop, and i can induce it by making the truck lug a little in high gears. something must of happened when i had it all apart, especially something that has to do with the throttle body. heres some ideas i thought of:
IAC
TPS
fuel pressure regulator; ive heard they can cause vibrations
vacuum leak
i just need some more suggestions about what could cause this and some more info on what the symptoms would be if what i mentioned is the problem.besides the vibration, the truck runs really good. i had this posted in the 87-96 forum but didnt get a reply. truck is in sig
Mine has a slight vibration too...But it correlates directly with engine rpms...I can literally feel a *Slight* rpm vibration flow through the pedal......I just chalk it off as a REALLY stout 300...
Hmmmm.....If you took the fuel rail off, and replaced it...Did you try undoing the lil black cap off the FR port, and crank the engine over till gas comes out and replace the cap quickly? Just a thought....
do you have a way to pull codes even if you dont have a check engine light on? a vacuum gauge? fuel pressure gauge? you could also try pulling the plugs to everything you disconnected and make sure none of the pins are bent or pushed back and not making contact.
i replaced the air injection rail, so i dont think i disturbed the fuel lines. i work for a mechanic so ill try to get the codes read today. the engine light actually did come on a few times since i did the repair, but only for about a minute or so.
