Wink '00 Trailer Tow relays??

-Added a plug-in trailer wireing harness with a 4flat connector to our '00 Explorer, and its all NOT getting power.
-Checked INSIDE fuse box for the right and left trailer turn/stop/brake fuses-these all checked out good-found nothing for the running lights......would anyone have an idea as to where a relay would be or what I need to do to get power to the rear trailer light connector?? Thanks!

Have you checked for power at the adapter connector near the taillight? Maybe the wiring harness is defective or not making a good connection when plugged in.

Yes, I have, there is NO power either at the signals, brake, or running lights at the connector......My Neice had the same problem with a Nissan Titan and the dealer couldn't even find out where the relays for the trailer connector went.......evedentally Ford is the same type of deal with this Explorer.......

On the 2000 Explorer the trailer tow park lamp relay is supposed to be in Auxilliary Relay Box #2. This Aux box #2 is located in the left rear of the vehicle, above the wheel well. It's not too far away from the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module if you have ever looked for that. I thought there were relays in there for the left and right brake/turn signals as well, but I don't find those listed in the wiring diagram.

make sure you are using the correct pig tail behind the tail light. on mine there were identical pig tails on the driver's and passenger's side.

the driver's side worked, the passenger's side did not.

FWIW, i put mine in 4 years ago and it has worked without flaw this whole time, so they are very reliable.

Did you get it working? If not, check-out fuse (I think it's #13) under the hood on the drivers side. My Explorer is a '96 and the fuse was blown in mine. After replace the fuse everything worked fine. Good luck!
