Not a dumb question at all, everyone has to learn sometime and someway its much easier to learn if you are willing to ask. 73-79 F-100 through F-350s are the same body style except the difference in cab size and box size/style of course. You can mix and match as much as you want. There is a visual differnce in grill, grill shell, and hood badges between the 73-77 and the 78-79 models.
