injector acting up???

Seems to only happen once in a while. It will idle fine then all of a sudden will idle rough for a bit then back to idling normal again. It was doing it and I ran a can of sea foam thru it and ran great for about a month now it is doing it again. Do I have an injector going out or is it something else?? I watch the tach when it is idling rough and the rpm's don't drop.

i was told that it could be either an IPR valve issue or IPC sensor or the wiring harness to either one. might wanna check that

AJB---your profile says you have an 04 truck which means it may have an 03 or an 04 motor. Production date of 9/29/03 or before means it's an 03 motor 10/03 or later and it's an 04. You can also tell by the ICP sensor--if it's on the passenger side front of the valve cover it's an 04 (or later) motor. Regardless.......get it scanned and please give us a few maintenance specifics about your truck. Last oil change, fuel filter change, and brand of filters used. It might be something as simple as that causing your issue.

Production date is 10/03. Oil change was about 1000 miles ago, fuel filter 6000 miles ago. I used Microguard filters the first change and motorcraft this change. It has had this hicup on both brands of filters. It doesnt seem to lack power though just a weird idle now and then. When you accelerate it goes and doesn't act if anything is missing that is why I am thinking it isn't an injector.

Are you sure it's not the normal cycling of the VGT? Is it just rumbling for a few seconds? My idle sounds inconsistent, and that can be normal.

No this is beyond anything kicking in and out. Ever since I posted this thread though it hasn't acted up. Seems it only does it once in a while. Going to get it scanned and find out.

What did you ever find out to be your problem? I've got an 04 F350 with 140K on it and does the exact same thing, runs rough every once in a while idling then clears up but I can never feel it when accelerating. Mine also idles rough for the 1st minute or two when I start it up cold then it smooths out.
