I've got a 1994 f350 7.3l powerstroke, crew cab, four wheel drive and i don't have the sticker inside the door to tell me what all the weights and towing specs are... anyone weighed their truck???? I tried looking it up by VIN, but that just tells me anywhere between 6,001-10,000 lbs... If you know the weight i would love it if you'd share!!!
so it would probably be a safe bet to say that my truck weighs roughly 8000-9000... Just curious, because i may have to trailer my wife's 2003 expedition from San Diego to New York City on a U-Haul trailer and i'm trying to see if i meet their requirements without actually calling them. i know the weight of the expedition (roughly 5200), but not my truck. they say the tow vehicle has to weigh equal or exceeding 80% of the weight of the vehicle on the trailer (2200).
I doubt the Expedition and trailer is going to be 25% heavier than your truck. To be honest I would probably just make up a number that satisfies their requirement, which seems pointless.
Just make sure your tongue weight is within acceptable range and the Expedition will haul fine, I hate dollys but I've used a U-Haul car trailer and I think they work fine (provided they have one that an Expedition will fit on).
Yeah, I was thinking i would just make up some numbers for them. The length and width requirements are fine, it's just the weight that would raise a question. Hopefully i can sell the dang thing before we move though.
I weighed mine a couple monthas ago and the dry weight of my CC, LB 4x4 PSD which is pretty much identical to yours way around 7400lbs, with pretty much empty tanks of fuel.
