R/Shaw t-stat
have a 78 F150 with a 351with a/c and seperated the tranny cooler from the rad to infront of the rad with 2 coolers.I am in Arizona would a 180 be better than a 192-195 temp. Also were can the shaw t-stat be found? Have read that Auto Zone carries a brand that are the shaw but have read that brand not good quality, so at a loss. any help would be great.

180 vs 195? ...Isn't that AZ's ambient temps in the summer??? Hahahahahaha.
These rigs aren't sensitive to T-stat opening temps as the newer EFI and engine management systems so I think it's a wash with whatever temp you pick.
However, I do recommend getting a T-stat that fails open: MotoRad - Fail Safe® Thermostat
