timing cover and water pump questions
Hi Guys
I usually lurk on the 48-60 forum but I have a few specific question on 460 I'm having built..
This was originally a Lincoln engine with front sump pan. I changed to a rear sump pan to have more room for a MII IFS in the '53 f-100.
1. Will the original timing cover match up ok with the rear sump pan... any issues I need to address or do I need a different cover. ??
2. Choice of water pumps ??? stock ford do the job or go with an after market... Edelbrock or such... and I'm assuming re place the rear plate with the new pump, right ??? will I have better cooling/higher flow with an aftermarket vrs stock ford
3. the timing cover had the tube for the dipstick... the rear sump pan has the dip stick tube in the side of the pan... what is the best way to plug this tube hole ??? epoxy ?? metal plug ??
thanks in advance for the help..
