Plug with wires?

Plug with wires?
On my Bronco II, I got a plug with wires coming FROM the back of the truck (about 3-4 grouped up) going into 2 wires cut from wherever they were, it looks like the plugged into the tranny?
I could go get pics if it helps, one is green and I think the other is red, anyone know what these are for? (I was hoping it was for the fuel gage cuz mine doesn't work, but I don't know)
