well I can find the weatherstripping, and just about everything else for the vent window, except for the frame for the vent window. It runs from the bottom pivot, and the top pivot runs throught it.
Does anybody know where I can find that peice, or if thet even sell it or something else that works out.
any help will be appreciated
Is there a way to fix the lower pivot without buying a new frame? I think all of the parts except the frame are available from the usual suppliers: LMC, DC, NPD, ect, but none of them have the frame for 61-66. I have one with a bad lower pivot.
How did they attach the pin to the channel. the pin I am guessing is solid and the channel is sheet metal so something was either welded in or bonded in some fashion. Can a lower pivot pin be fabricated and installed as the original was. I realize the parts books do not separate them out as they came as one servicable part back in the day.

Edit ~ Post #7: 'Squire' Don says the lower pivot is riveted to the vent frame.
No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

its riveted on...can be seen with window opened...rusted through lower pivot shafts and rotted frames are the issues on these...handle mounting pivots are commonly broken off too...
well its both really. everyone keeps telling me how to rebuild the bottom pivot. i found parts for the bottom pivot with no problem bracket, pin, and spring, ect.
My QUESTION is, can i get the frame anywhere, the little metal channel, that the front of the vent window sits in, It runs from the bottom pivot to the top pivot.

There is a right side and a left side vent frame. Did you read what I typed in post #6?
Both the right and left vent frames are obsolete. The only choice for the left side is used, because no source has any NOS (New Old Stock).
I looked into these parts about 6 months ago and it seems like someone was releasing a reproduction scheduled to be out this year on these. Anyone else want to chime in on this?

First I've heard of it, and I'm usually aware of what's repopped, what ain't...cuz I have DC's, Truck & Car Shop's, Carolina Classics, Blue Oval Truck Parts repro truck parts catalogs.
Here's DC's (Dennis Carpenter) number, you could call and ask: 800-476-9653. If DC isn't the source, he should know who the source is...if there is any.
i found a company that has both vent frames in their catalog, I have never bought from this company before, so unsure of quality. Here is the web address..(http://www.concoursparts.com/pic/pdfcatalogs-file8.pdf). The Vent frames are a ways down the catalog on page 80. And if posting this page address wasn't ok please let me know, just trying to help.
